New Year, New Arrival

First of all… Happy New Year, everyone! Here’s wishing you all a fantastic 2013 – and of course, I look forward to catching up with you along the way.

Now then, some news…

As you might know, my wife and I have been expecting a new addition to our family for a while now. With a baby due in February, we were happily building our nest, sorting rooms and decluttering – all at a gentle, steady pace.

My intention had been to spend the period between Christmas and New Year continuing these preparations, along with getting a few admin duties out of the way before 2013 really got going.

But would you believe it, nature had other plans for me!

Just over a week ago, we welcomed a beautiful baby girl into the world; her name is Poppy, and I’m sure you’ll see plenty of mentions of her dotted about the place from now on.

As you can imagine, with such a premature birth, a great deal of my plans have had to go on hold whilst a lot of attention is given over to the little one (for example, wild camping/photo trips in the Brecon Beacons and Dartmoor had to be postponed last week).

So, this is just a quick message to keep you up to date and to thank you for all the well-wishes and continued support here on The Active Photographer.

My activities are still continuing – just subject to a little adjustment here and there until things settle down.

Giles.

Thanks very much, Carl :) Tiredness not too bad at the moment – but I dare say that could all change, given a number of factors!

As for routine… that’s something which will have to be reviewed in the coming days, I think!
