Inspiration Lurks Around Every Corner

I just came across this short video (below) whilst milling around the interwebs. Obviously, it will appeal to those of you who are into your BMX riding – but for us photographers, I think it’s a great little reference point, too.

Aside from the ambient music, wonderful light and overall pace, I’d suggest you pay close attention to the many great angles that the camera has picked up.

These shots don’t just ‘happen’.

They come about because someone has taken the time to look for them, to see how they can get the best out of the venues they are presented with. Sometimes this requires early starts to the day and planning weeks or even months in advance. Other times it’s just a cast of turning up ahead of time and running a few tests.

Attention to detail leads to inspiration, which in turn leads to great results.

Next time you’re out and about, scouting for locations, ask yourself whether there’s something you’ve not spotted, something which lurks beyond the obvious. A route, an angle, a way to light the scene…

Nine times out of ten, you’ll be pleasantly surprised by what you find.
