Episode #16 – Twilight At The Marina

This week: I’m heading out at the end of the day, to capture some striking new images for my website and portfolio.

Twilight is a fantastictic time of day, but brings its own set of technical considerations where photography is concerned. Taking a stroll around a local marina, I discuss what is in front of the camera and how to record it.

Some quick links to things mentioned today:

  1. Hi Giles.

Found your Podcast recently; how nice to listen to a photography Podcast in English!
I live & work in The English Lake District & am primarily an outdoor & landscape photographer but also so a fair amount of Speedway.

Anyway am enjoying the Podcast’s and having just listened to Episode 16, on location, I thought I would share some ideas.

Photography is obviously very visual. I think that a video element would really add to the value of this type of podcast. Perhaps even an Enhanced Podcast with images embedded in the stream?

At a later stage, perhaps in future Podcasts you could recoded a Screencast showing the Post processing workflow. As Pro’s we take a lot for granted but am certain many people would benefit and enjoy the enhanced show with video & embedded images.

This would mean quite a bit of extra work as I know too well having done a fair bit of multiple media for myself, but am sure the results would be worth it & take your Podcast to a higher level?

    All the best, kind regards.

    Nick

    1. Hi Nick,

Thanks very much for the feedback – and, of course, for sharing your ideas.

It’s funny you should mention the Enhanced Podcast idea; a number of people have also said they’d like to see this… so I guess I’d better get looking into how to make it happen!

I’m not afraid of the additional work that might be involved in putting together additional content on The Active photographer; however, as I’m sure you are only too aware, time is always the force we are fighting. Still, no need to give myself excuses not to make it happen!

Thanks again, keep spreading the good word, and look out for new developments here soon :)
