Hidden in plain sight – just the way I like it!
There are so many things that appeal to me about hammocking – from the comfort and ease of use to the infinite possibilities when it comes to tailoring one’s setup to be the perfect match.
Overwhelmingly, though, the thing I love most is the almost seamless blendability that I can achieve with my surroundings.
This is not about camouflaging or stealth camping or hiding from people… It’s simply the act of feeling closer to the natural surroundings that I’m there to enjoy. In this way, I’m more relaxed, I see more wildlife and I enjoy the elements all the more – very rarely disturbed by passers-by.
Unfortunately, rain and consistent high winds along with a dash of common sense regarding safety from falling branches etc have kept me from my happy place recently – and I have to say, after two skipped weeks now, I’m beginning to get withdrawal symptoms.
Simply put – I need my weekly dose of hammock time!
