This week: I’m sat in a local park, reflecting on a day of gallery visits in London.
Last Wednesday, I headed up to London for a meeting with one of my contacts in the photography industry. Whilst in the city, I decided to take in a number of galleries and exhibitions, in order to get the creative juices flowing…

I used to have a Lubi, was a great camera for portraits especially if your lens had the drop off around the edges.
I had a few other Russia camera’s through the ’80 from Holga, Lubi, and FED and some weird 3d camera I found in a second hand shop.
I sold most of them off for peanuts in the early 2000s :-(
I can’t believe the prices of these cameras now, especially when you can pick up yashica’s and the like at half the price on ebay.
Only film cameras I still have are an Olympus XA2 and a 6×6 folding camera.
I think the term for this type of photography is called lomography :-)
George
Hi George,
You’re right – I’ve certainly sold my fair share of these cameras on eBay, to make space and a few pounds… Hindsight is a wonderful thing, isn’t it?!
The Lubitel I have is a 166 Universal; if you look around the lens, you will see that it shows the name Lomo… Hence, Lomography :)
