Episode #13 – The Brains Behind Focus

This week: I’m kicking off my series of interviews recorded at Focus On Imaging – Europe’s largest annual imaging show, held at Birmingham’s National Exhibition Centre.

Last year’s show was visited by around 35,000 people – and it goes without saying that any event of this size doesn’t just ‘happen.’ Behind the scenes is a dedicated team of professionals headed up by FOI’s founder, Mary Walker.

In this show, Mary and I catch up to discuss just what is involved in producing such a vibrant show which, after 22 years, continues to attract increasingly more visitors.

Some quick links to things mentioned today:

  1. Good luck with your interviews. My photography is a bit different but if you ever want to interview me I’m all about it; getting my name about there and spreading my love for photography to inspire other photographers.

I remember that image of the dog when I started learning Photoshop some years ago. Let us see they are going to show how to use either the clone stamp tool or the patch tool to remove that little pool cleaner thingy to the left of the dog :)

    Again good luck with everything!

    Hi Dwayne,

Thanks for the comment – and nice to hear from another like-minded photographer.

You’re right – it’s all about learning, sharing knowledge and in so doing, fuelling our passion for photography. I think that getting your name out there in the process of helping others is a fair trade, don’t you ;)

Thanks for supporting the show – glad you’re enjoying it!
